Ekiga 3.2.1 available

This is the first stable update of Ekiga.



Here is the list of changes:

  • Fixed various crashes on shutdown
  • Fixed crash when opening preferences or assistant
  • Fixed crash when no account
  • Fixed SIP registration
  • Fixed DTMF mode for SIP endpoint
  • Migrate ekiga.net configuration from 3.0 to 3.2
  • Maintain window position on hiding/showing the main window
  • On some failed registration, do not show the unuseful
    RequestTerminated code, but the actual error

Ekiga 3.2.0 available

This is a new stable update of of Ekiga.



Here is the list of major changes:

  • Better NAT support in case of Cone NAT
  • There is now only one H.263 plugin implementing both H.263 and
    H.263+
  • Allow several ALSA devices to have the same name
  • Added support for the G.722 audio codec: G.722 is a 16 kHz wideband
    audio codec advertised as HD Voice by the famous Polycom. It is a
    great boost in quality and interoperability
  • Added support for the CELT ultral-low delay audio codec: CELT delivers

Ekiga 3.0.2 available

This is the second update the Scheherazade branch of Ekiga.



Here is the list of changes:

  • Make sure sound events are played through the correct devices.
    (#564370)
  • Fixed crash on missed call.
  • Do not show the assistant after an upgrade for which Ekiga was already
    successfully setup.
  • Added settings migration from Ekiga 2.0.x.
  • Allow answering/rejecting calls from the main window even if we use notifications.
  • Do not try refreshing SUBSCRIBE requests for which the 200 OK contains an expire time of 0.

Ekiga.net upgraded

Ekiga.net has been upgraded. We are now running Kamailio (recently renamed to
SIP Router due to the merge between Kamailio and the old SIP Express Router)
and Asterisk 1.4. Among others, it allows to run the echo test with codecs
like H.264.
The old WEB interface has been replaced by a more intuitive one thanks to
Yannick Defais. The look and feel is now similar to the one you can see on the
brother ekiga.org website.
I would also like to thank Jan Schampera who helps me daily maintaining
ekiga.net.

Ekiga 3.0.1 available

This is the first update the Scheherazade branch of Ekiga. We are still working on improving Ekiga.net and will keep you informed about the progress.

Ekiga 3.00 aka "The Scheherazade release" available

After 1001 nights of coding, the Ekiga team is proud to present the latest incarnation of Ekiga!



Ekiga 3.0.0 is available for download at the usual location. More packages will be added later.


Snapshots packages are back

Thank to Eugen Dedu and Yannick Defais, we now have again packages allowing
easy testing of our bleeding edge Ekiga.

Update: This news is an April Fool.



Due to the big popularity of the Microsoft Windows operating system compared to the GNU/Linux desktop, we have decided to put all our efforts on the WIN32 port of Ekiga.



Due to the increased amount of work and the lack of spare time, Ekiga 3.00 will only be released for WIN32.


Ekiga 2.0.12 released

Ekiga 2.0.12 is available for download. You can find packages at the usual location. More packages will be added later.
